What Is GS1 QR Code?

Ambition 2027
GS1 Industry Goal: Achieve widespread adoption of 2D barcodes at retail POS by 2027.
Transition Guidelines:
- Before 2027: Use both EAN/UPC and GS1 QR Code or DataMatrix
- After 2027: Option to use 2D barcodes only
- 2D Barcode Position: Must be within 50mm of the main barcode
- Scanning Speed: Ensure 40–70 items per minute scanning efficiency
